About the plant:
Thriving in the heat, soaking up humidity, and appreciating deeper organic soils, enriched containers & for the most part, loving soil moisture, tropical plants are surprisingly low maintenance and easy to care for! Tropical plants require consistently warmer temperatures and more humid environments than regular plants. Tropical plants also come in both blooming and foliage plants.Pothos,Spider plant, Bromeliads, palms, and orchids etc are considered tropical plants.
Proper plant care instructions:
Tropical plants are native to warm, humid regions and may need more care than other plants to thrive indoors. Here are some tips for caring for tropical plants:
-
LightMost tropical plants prefer bright, indirect sunlight, so keep them away from direct sun but still ensure they get plenty of light throughout the day.
-
HumidityTropical plants like high humidity, so you can try these methods to increase it:
- Group similar plants together
- Use a humidifier
- Put a bucket of water on top of a radiator to evaporate and add humidity
- Spritz the plants with water, but avoid spraying flowers
-
TemperatureTropical plants do best in daytime temperatures around 70–80°F (21–27°C) and nighttime temperatures around 60–70°F (16–21°C).
-
WateringWater your plant when the top inch or two of soil feels dry, then water until it drains out of the bottom of the pot. Water in the morning so the soil has time to dry out before the cooler evening temperatures. Avoid overwatering, which can kill the roots. You can also try using distilled water instead of tap water, as fluoride in tap water can damage some plants.
-
SoilTropical plants prefer well-drained, enriched, organic soil that holds moisture but isn’t soggy. The soil should also be slightly acidic.
-
FertilizingDuring the growing season, fertilize most tropical plants two to three times with diluted fertilizer.
